We decided to open it up to all employees. Because insecurities don't discriminate based on gender.
I'm yet to meet the person who has never:
-Struggled with self-confidence
-Thought low of themselves when comparing to others
-Been afraid of speaking up or joining meetings
-Been intimidated by others
-Had negative thoughts about themselves
At the basis of it all is your self-belief. Do you believe you are worthy? Good enough? Able enough?
And how do you evaluate the real life evidence in light of your self-belief?
If you've done a good job, how do you see that?
-"I did well!"
or
-"That was just dumb luck. Uff, I got away with that one!"
What about mistakes? A lot less luck involved there, I guess... We often find a much bigger personal contribution in our failures than in our successes.
That's unfair. We don't do ourselves justice.
And that was just the intro to the seminar. I talked for an hour to nearly 200 Tripadvisor and the Fork employees about how you can shift your perception to increase your self-belief.
