Especially a diverse team.
My 4-year-old found an unused calendar in my office and wanted to hang it in her room. My 2-year-old followed upstairs to help her.
I was waiting to be called to help. But that didn’t happen.
They ran up and down a few times.
Steps.
Tape.
Scissors.
And they managed. By themselves.
Or actually, together.
I shouldn’t have been surprised. Diverse teams are magical.
Research shows: Diverse teams are resourceful. Creative. Innovative. Engaged and productive. Great at decision making. Revenue boosters.
There’s just one condition.
Psychological safety.
Team members need to feel free to be themselves. Share ideas. Different perspectives. Without fear of disrespect.
Without psychological safety, your team can be as diverse as you want. Magic won’t happen.
How you create that? That’s what we as leadership coaches specialise in.
