When you fly with kids, they will personally come to your seat and remind you.
When stress hits at work, do you take care of yourself before others? Or are you trying to sort out everyone else’s issues first? To your own detriment?
And what is your ‘oxygen mask’? Do you have it at hand so you can pop it on when necessary?
What helps us in times of stress is personal.
For some people it is literally oxygen: a walk in the fresh air outside. For others it is a heavy session at the gym.
A home cooked meal. Or a healthy take away meal.
Some time alone. A call with a friend.
Classical music. Singing and dancing along to a nineties hit.
It is up to you to figure out what it is. And to have it at hand.
In our Women in Business programme, we spend time on this. And on discovering how stress manifests in you and how to recognize it early on. So you can pop on your oxygen mask early.
Then you can help everyone else.
